Obituary

John (Jack) Naylor was born on July 10, 1922 in Crookston MN. He passed away on June 12, 2016 in Carrollton Texas at the age of 93 from complications of myelodysplastic syndrome. Mr. Naylor joined the Army Air Corp and served in World War II from 1940 to 1946. He also served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He remained in the Reserves, volunteered as a Civil Air Patrol instructor and retired in 1982 from the Air Force as a Major.After graduating from The University of Denver in 1949, he worked as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse Elevator Division for 37 years, retiring in 1986. Jack was a longtime volunteer at Mary Immaculate Church in Carrollton, serving as an usher and a volunteer for The Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He also volunteered in the pharmacy at Trinity Medical Hospital (now Baylor Carrollton) for 11 years. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Order of Daedalians and the VFW.Jack is survived by his wife of 69 years Marie (Toni) Naylor; daughter Sandra Naylor-Gerigk, son-in-law, Mark; granddaughter, Tacie Stanfield and her husband, Sean; brother, Tom Naylor; sister, Mary Jane Suttle; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Kenneth Naylor; parents, John and Tacie Naylor; and sister, Frances Cobb.A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mary Immaculate Church, 2800 Valwood Pkwy., Farmers Branch Texas 75234.Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas TX 75211. (Date and time to follow).Funeral arrangements made by North Dallas Funeral Home, 2701 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch,Texas75234.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Immaculate Church, earmarked for The Mary Immaculate School Tuition Assistance Fund.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
