James David Nichols, Jr. passed away on March 17, 2013 in Plano, Texas. David was born on August 11, 1930 in Dallas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be profoundly missed. His legacy will remain in our lives forever. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharron Nichols, his children; Vicci Meek, Lawrence Nichols, Stefanie Nichols, Craig Nichols, his grandchildren; Gavin Nichols, Katelyn Nichols, Kaleigh Nichols, Abigail Nichols, Chris Dunham, Shawn Nichols, Melissa Martinez, Josiah Meek, Nicole Nichols, seven great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law; Paul Teas. He is preceded in death by his son; Scott Allen Nichols, granddaughter; Amber Armstrong and his six cherished sisters; Edith Jones, Phyllis Parks, Betty Joe Shearer, Moment Armour, Mildred Teas and Patsy Nichols.David ran a successful entertainment business for many years in the Dallas and Houston area during the 1950s and 60s, which produced live music and comedy shows. He also opened and ran several nightclubs in the Dallas area. He then moved on to the automobile business, which he continued until his retirement. David will be most remembered for his outgoing personality, intelligence and colorful stories. Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, 1pm at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
