Anne Daniel Nolen, 84, retired professor of theatre arts at Ole Miss, died Friday, August 17, 2012 in Dallas, TX. Anne was born in Natchez, MS to Guy and Lorene Daniel. Her husband William A. Nolen preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Anne Nolen and her husband, Don Muchow of Dallas, TX, and her son, W. Daniel Nolen and his wife, Jo Johnson Nolen, residing near Fort Sill, OK.Anne lived a rich and happy life. She loved books, words, language, and music. She performed off-off-Broadway, wrote a college textbook, mentored untold Ole Miss students, many of whom stayed in touch after graduation, cheered on thousands of hummingbirds, became a self-taught expert on her personal computer following her retirement and found new friends via the web literally all over the world who consulted her regularly for "tech support", advice on recipes, and more. She continued to be the resident spelling expert even as her health declined.Deepest appreciation goes to her "angels" at Lexington Place in Dallas, particularly Maria Lugo, Jeannette Jackson, Helen Moore and Annette Moorehead, and to Kathy Kinnamon at Baylor Elder Housecalls. Ruth Carter, Mary Cone, Pat Wilson and Jeannie James have been faithful friends throughout. No formal services are planned. Memorial contributions in Anne's name may be made to the VNA Hospice (www.vnatexas.org) in Dallas, TX or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in Memphis, TN.Please send condolences and sign the guest book on this website.
