Joseph Christopher Oldham ofDallas, Texas wasborn July 16, 1965 andleft this life peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the age of 52. Joe was the youngest of six children raised by parents Jimmy Roger and Catherine Oldham of Farmers Branch, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, his brother Jimmy and his brother Greg. His absence will be felt by all who had the pleasure to know and love him, and most of all by his loving family; his only sister, Terri Beck and her, husband Hoyt; his brothers, Danny Oldham, and Tony and wife, Shannon Oldham. Joe was an uncle to eight nieces and three nephews, and was adored by many cousins, aunts, uncles and one Sugah.Joe chose to follow in the footsteps of his mothers father and became a chef. His talent as a culinarian and dedication to the demanding work would take him on assignments to West Virginia, the Virgin Islands, Lanai, Maui, San Diego, Las Vegas, Nevis, Singapore and Houston. While Joe did love traveling the globe feeding friends and guests of the Four Seasons Resorts, he was a Texan at heart and moved home to Dallas in 2008 to be close to his family. He joined the Culinaire team as Executive Chef at Food Glorious Food and catered memorable events with his cherished team for nine years. He was more than a boss to his staff; he was a leader, mentor, friend, confidante, and a clown in and outside of the kitchen.Joes love of people and food was equally matched to his love of music and the arts. He attended countless concerts in his lifetime and tenderly treasured his ticket stub collection. Joe will also be remembered by many as the host in the gold silk shirt of the best Oscar party theyve ever attended.A memorial celebration to honor his life will be held at Arlington Hall at 5:00 pm on Monday, October 23 in Dallas, Texas.
