Dad

The blue eyed, golden haired boy

Rode trollies, wore a Cowboy outfit and

Ate cookies in his grandmothers kitchen

As he grew he acquired a love of music

And learned how to fix things

Later he served our country

In the Navy

He married a country gal from Texas

And became the patriarch of five children

They were like other families

They lived through hard times

They lived through good timeslike

Wooden roller coasters, picnics, and world fairs

And Christmas mornings in pajamas

Then there were the Arkansas summers.

Spent at the lake of a favorite aunt and uncle

Here is where I picture all seven of us

Together

Laughing, splashing, and playing in the lake

In the golden sunshine

Dad frozen in time
