Joan Marie OShea, aged 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27th, 2020. A celebration of her beautiful life will be held on September 4th, 2020, at 9:30am at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, Texas. In lieu of flowers, Joan would have been humbled by donations made to Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. She was born on September 4, 1945, in Whitney, Ontario, Canada, to Joseph and Jeanette Ferrigan. On July 13, 1974, she married her best friend and life-long love, Daniel Patrick OShea III. Together, they built a life that was founded on a strong sense of faith and an even stronger sense of family. Joan is survived by her husband, Dan, her daughters, Kathleen Kate Carone, Meghan Meg OShea, Siobhan OShea, Tara OShea, Molly Mulkey, Brandy OShea and Tiffany OShea, son Michael OShea, ten grandchildren, and brother Kevin Ferrigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers, and her beloved son, Danny.Joan, affectionately called Joni by those closest to her, devoted her life to serving others. After high school, Joan began the process of taking Holy Orders by joining the convent in The Order of the Faithful Companions of Jesus. After leaving the orders, she married Dan, and started their family two years later. Joan and Dan were parents to five girls and one son. In 1988, Dan and Joan expanded their family by three by way of adopting two sisters and a brother. They could not be more proud of the family they had created. While Joan loved her family beyond measure, it was her Catholic faith that drove all things in her life. A long time member of Mary Immaculate, Joan was heavily involved in the life of the Parish, considering it an extension of her own family that she loved so much.Joan didnt just love her children, she loved all children. And her heart was filled by her work as a Kindergarten teacher in schools within the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. She also devoted time to teaching religious studies to children from her Mary Immaculate family. Joans heart was that of a servant. She was always looking for ways to help, no matter how big or small, and she did so with such joy and grace. She was welcoming and kind, never having met a stranger. The passing of Joan has left a sadness to those who knew her, but also a joy that she is living a life free of pain and is reunited with her son, Danny. Joan will be missed every single day. She was loved every single day and she will be thought of often and fondly. Rest in peace, Joan. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
