Michael Allen Owczykowski passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 16, 2015 to be with The Spirit in the Sky. (by Norman Greenbaum)Michael lived in Dallas, Texas for the past 25 years and was 63 years old. Michael was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on February 24, 1952, and preceeded in death by his parents, Paul Adam Owczykowski and Clara Agnes Lepish Owczykowski, his sister, Linda Marie Valdez and his nephew, Jeremy Vincent Valdez. He has seven surviving siblings, Kathleen Guy of Canandaquia, NY; Paul Andrew Owczykowski of Dallas, TX; Mary Claire Drowgowski of Rochester, PA; Joseph Anthony Owczykowski of Lupton, MI; John Shepherd of Dallas, TX; Greg and Rosella Milliken of Austin, TX; Marcie Lynne Oates of Austin, TX and many nieces and nephews.Michael graduated in 1970 from Valley High School, New Kensington, PA, where he participated in cross-country, track and was the Treasurer of V.I.C.A. He earned a degree in 1972 at Allegheny Technical Institute, Pittsburgh, PA, and worked for Stromberg-Carlson, Sprint and Eastern Telecom.Michaels hobbies included: nature photography, motorcycling, yoga and meditation. He was a creative soul, who loved to learn and practice self-sustaining, all natural living. At heart, Michael was always a 1960 hippie, a brave and compassionate brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all.A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Ln, Dallas, TX, 75234, (972) 241-9100 at noon.
