Padgett, Doris Vananda was born June 4,1932 in Townsend TN and died April 3, 2014 in Dallas TX following a long illness. Doris and her husband Bob lived with their daughter Penny and son-in-law Tom for 3 years. They moved to Dallas from Sarasota FL where they were active members of Sarasota Baptist Church. They lived in Sarasota for 9 years having previously lived in Knoxville and on Norris Lake.Doris was a descendant of the First Familys of Tennessee and was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School Class of 1950. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry Edward and Lois Vananda.Doris is survived by her husband of 63 years Robert Earl Padgett; daughter, Penny Wilson her husband, Thomas Gates Wilson Jr., their sons, John Brooks Wilson and Thomas Gates Wilson III (Trey) his wife, Megan and great grandson Jack Thomas Wilson, also surviving are Doriss son, John Robert Padgett his wife, Pam of Franklin TN, their daughter, Kelsey Freeman her husband Ben, and their son, John William (Will) Padgett. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis Thompson of Murfreesboro and brother H.E.(Butch) Vananda Jr. of Knoxville and aspecial cousin, Judy Tucker of Knoxville.A memorial service will be held at her church in Dallas, Texas,Park Cities Baptist on Monday April 14th at 10:30am.Memorials may be made in Doriss name to Denison Forum of Truth and Culture. 17304 Preston Rd #1060 Dallas TX 75252.Please send the family condolences on this website.
