Obituary

Peggy Ann OConnor of Arlington, Texas passed away on January 28, 2022 at the age of 62. Peggy was born on February 5, 1959 in Berwyn, Illinois to Richard and Patricia OConnor. She moved to Texas with her family when she was a teenager. She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Sophie Nolan and Walter and Lillian OConnor and her father Richard OConnor. She is survived by her mother Patricia OConnor and siblings Colleen Rebish, Shawn OConnor, Cara (Reid) Whitesel and Mike (Jennifer) OConnor. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Tricia Rebish, Christa (Don) Watkins, Collin (Tierney) Whitesel, Andrew (Britany) Whitesel, Ashley OConnor, Katie (Jeff) LeRoy, Riley OConnor, Brody OConnor and Logan OConnor and great nieces and nephews Halie Watkins, Lillian Watkins, Steven Watkins, Stormie Rebish, Raven Rebish, Michael Hall, Madelynn Hall, McKenzie LeRoy, Kynleigh Whitesel, Baylor Whitesel and Merritt Whitesel. She is also survived by a multitude of other family and friends. Peggy graduated from J. J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas in 1977. She married Clinton Wills in 1977 and although not still married, he was an important part of her life. She retired from Aetna after over 30 years of service and was currently working for MultiPlan in Arlington, Texas. She loved her family and was the biggest cheerleader relating to everything her nieces and nephews did. Peggy loved animals, gardening and cooking.Peggy was very active in the animal rescue community and worked tirelessly with a few local animal rescue groups doing Trap, Neuter & Release for feral cats. She also worked very hard fostering cats and kittens and attending adoption events to find them homes. Animal rescue was her biggest passion and she worked closely with Buddies Place Cat Rescue, Matildas Garden and other animal rescue groups and animal shelters. She met so many close friends as part of that journey.Thank you to everyone that provided support to Peggy during her 15 month battle with cancer, whether helping with her medical care, helping with her cats, providing financial support or sending flowers, treats, cheer packages and prayers. She was tiny but mighty and put up a courageous fight. Special thanks to niece Tricia Rebish (her girlie) who was her primary caregiver during her illness.
