Obituary of Peggy Elizabeth Waid Peggy Elizabeth Waid, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend went home to be with the passed away on March 21, 2023. Peggy was born on February 26, 1949, in Atlanta, TX to Houston and Mildred Gibson. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry. Peggy was the love of his life and will be greatly missed. She is also survived by her two sons, Michael Waid and wife, Carole Ann of Murphy, TX, Bryan Waid and wife, Mendy of Fort Worth, TX, her grandchildren, Macey, Abby, Hope, Carter, Luke and Brody, her brother, Brent Gibson and wife Janiet of Sulphur Springs, TX, and her sister, Wanda Mingle and husband, Tom of Heath, TX. Peggy graduated from Queen City High School in 1967 and went on to acquire her bachelors degree in English from UT Arlington and her masters degree from East Texas State Texarkana. She was a long- time educator for Queen City ISD, Atlanta ISD, and Texas AM University. She was once chosen as Teacher of the Year for Region 8. Peggy was a member of FBC at The Fields in Carrollton, TX, where she was an active member in the Forerunners Senior Ministry. Peggy loved to travel, read books, work in her flower beds, and spend time with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the FBC Childrens Ministry Building Fund at www.firstfields.org/give. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at FBC The Fields, 1401 Carrollton Pkwy, Carrollton, TX 75010. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
