Nelda Jo Phillips, born January 28, 1925, suddenly passed from this world August 17, 2011. She lived in Brownwood for most of her life and was a member of Johnson Memorial Methodist Church and later Early United Methodist Church. She was married to Wesley Tyson Phillips on May 1, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by her son Ed Phillips and his partner Randy Johnson; her daughter and son-in-law, Jeff and Ty Lawrence all of Dallas, grandchildren Tyson and Selena Lawrence of Knoxville, TN, Justin and Kami Lawrence of Abilene, TX, Jamie Lawrence and Erica Griffin of Dallas, nine grandchildren, two beloved sisters-in-law, Kitty Pate of Dallas and Lucille Ratliff of Lawton Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition she leaves behind her much loved and very spoiled terrier Toby. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Brownwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dallas Summer Musicals Academy of Performing Arts, P. O. Box 567671, Dallas, TX 75356 or the SPCA of Texas.
