Obituary

Lee V. W. Pierce, of Canton, Texas, was born on January 27, 1928, in Carthage, Texas. He was ushered into the presence of God on November 11, 2020 at the age of 92 years 9 months and 15 days.Lee was retired from Proctor & Gamble in Dallas, where he worked for 47 years. He was a proud World War 2 Navy veteran. Lee loved the Word of God and discussing the Bible was something he never tired of doing. When he wasnt at work, for many years Lee loved collecting and working on antique clocks. He instilled the love of clock collecting to numerous people over the years.Lee is survived by his wife Athel Pierce of Canton, children Gregory Pierce and wife Shelia of Hurst, Sarah Frazier and husband Donald of Dallas, and Stuart Pierce and wife Karla of Wills Point. Grandchildren, Christe Speir, Brett Pierce and wife Joanie, John Lanier and wife Laura, Rianna Brite and husband Bobby, Jody Lanier, and Steven Pierce and wife Natalie. Great grandchildren, Aaron Gregory and wife Alexis, Victoria Speir, Skyler Brite, Joshua Gregory, Jacob Gregory, Maggie Brite, Darren Pierce, Riley Pierce, Zachary Pierce, Lee Pierce, Kyle Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Layne Pierce, and Heidi Pierce. Great, Great Grandchildren Bentley Gregory and Waylon Gregory.Siblings Jerline Nilson of Nacogdoches, Charles Pierce and wife Christine of Hurst, Martha McGraw of Seagoville and Marie Perry and husband Mickey of Fort Worth.Lee is preceded in death by his parents Richard Newton Pierce and Evy Ree (Metcalf) Pierce, siblings Reba Dell Pierce, Virgil Ernest Pierce, Glovis Edward Pierce, and Myrtis Bell Cole; grandson Stuart Riley Pierce and Great Grandson Yancey Sebastian Speir.A visitation and viewing will be on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Tyler Gospel Chapel, 10195 Hwy 31 E, Tyler, TX 75705. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 pm with internment at 3:00 pm at the Langley Cemetery, E FM 124 in Beckville, TX. If attending, please wear masks and practice reasonable social distancing.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
