Obituary of Quata Jo Russell Quata Jo (Box) Russell passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 1:00 am on Friday, November 10, 2023. She was born to Margie and Madison Box of Midland, Texas on February 6, 1954. She graduated from Lee High School, class of 1972. She also received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in August 2002, and became an English Teacher. She married Sargent Christopher Robert Russell on June 3, 1972. After his 22-year career in the U.S. Army they retired in the Dallas area to live near their grandchildren. She has always been an active member of the Church of Christ. Her entire life she was a devoted Christian, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who displayed an unshakeable faith in the passed away and grace to all who she encountered. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Madison & Margie Box, her older brother, Dickey Box, and her husband of 44 years, Christopher Russell. She is survived by her sister Carmen and husband Kent Pittman of Mt. Juliet, TN, daughter Amanda Hall and husband Ronnie of McKinney, TX, daughter Candice Baker and husband Jeff as well as granddaughters Cosette & Alice Baker of Princeton, TX, and numerous extended family members.
