Obituary

Aaron Leon Reeves of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the age of 83.Aaron was born in Sturgis, Mississippi on April 16, 1933 to Albert Lee and Viola Hendricks Reeves. He graduated from Mississippi State College in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Husbandry, accompanied by a minor in Accounting. Aaron married Mary Nell Stewart of Calhoun City, Mississippi in 1954. He entered the United States Air Force in May of 1954 as a First Lieutenant, serving as a pilot and as a member of an aircraft intercept controller squadron. He was honorably discharged in 1958 and then joined the United States Air Force Reserves, retiring as Captain in 1962. Aaron then began a 35 year career with the United States Department of Agriculture.Aaron was a man of deep faith and was very active in his church, serving in several church leadership positions. Aaron enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife Nell, spending time with his family, researching his ancestry, and delving into computer science.Aaron was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Nell, of 62 years; son, Ron Reeves (Susan) of Farmers Branch, Texas; daughter, Linda Kettelkamp (Steve) of Lakeville, Minnesota; son, Walter Reeves (Nancy) of Louisville, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The Reeves family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 27, 2016 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, October 28, 2016 at First Baptist Church Farmers Branch, 13017 William Dodson Pkwy, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Interment, with military honors, will be at 10:00 am on Monday, October 31, 2016 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 MountainCreek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church Farmers Branch in memory of Aaron.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
