Born at home in Valparaiso, Indiana on November 29, 1929, John Andrew Reibly is the son of the late Edward and Ruth Reibly. He was raised in Gary, Indiana, where he attended Lew Wallace High School, graduating in 1949. John married his high school sweetheart, Agnes Lucas, on October 21, 1950.When John was 18, he began his career at U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana. He trained as a carpenter and later became a certified millwright under the U.S. Steel millwright training certification program. John spent 39 years providing millwright and carpentry services to the U.S. Steel Gary Works facilities, retiring in 1987.He raised his 5 children in Merrillville, Indiana. In 1992, John and Agnes moved to the Dallas area to be near their children and grand-children. He and his wife Agnes settled into the lakefront community of Wildwood Acres on Cedar Creek Lake where they would meet some of the most endearing people of their lives.
