Gene G. Reitz of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the age of 80.Gene was born on July 21, 1937 to George and Lydia Reitz in Sidney, Montana.George, Lydia and his brother Larry preceded him in death. He is survived by his brothers, Ted and Kenneth; and his sisters, Betty Thrams and Mary Ann Howard.He attended school in Sidney, graduating in 1956. He enlisted in the Unites States Army in 1956 and served until 1959. He attended Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana.Gene was known as the hardest working man in industrial pipe sales. He never missed a day of work and spent his annual vacation at Ted's family farm harvesting sugar beets. The best vacation from work was harder work.Most astounding, with the love and friendship of his wife, Judy, he became a centerpiece of an amazing modern family of stepchildren and grandchildren of whom he loved unconditionally with all his heart. Gene and Judy moved to Texas in 1997 to be closer to the children and grandchildren.Every cowboy he did know and knew the words to every western show.He always said "he was a short John Wayne"!Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
