Robert “Bob” Michael Martin passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 15, 2026, concluding a life marked by enduring love, quiet wisdom, humor, and service. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, he lived with grace and purpose and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Bob attended Brooklyn Prep and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fordham University. His education nurtured his gift for thoughtful words, sound judgment, and appreciation for the people ppppp and experiences that gave life meaning. Bob married Laura Jean McCaffrey, the love of his life, and they shared 60 years of marriage. Their partnership was the foundation of their family, and his love and gratitude for Laura remained ever present through his final years.Bob and Laura lived in seven states, building friendships and treasured memories wherever life took them. He also loved cruising, travel, and sharing new experiences with those closest to him. During a 30-year career with Nationwide Insurance, colleagues knew him as a servant leader and mentor who guided others with patience, integrity, compassion, and example. His influence lives on in the many people he encouraged and helped. Above all, Bob was devoted to his family. He was an extraordinary husband to Laura, a loving father to James and Joanne Martin of Hilliard, Ohio, and Gregory and Amanda Martin of Dallas, Texas, and a cherished grandfather to Jennifer, Robert, Matthew, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, Heliodoro and Phyllis Martin, and his grandson Robert, with whom he is now lovingly reunited. To his sons, Bob was both father and guide. Through his steady wisdom, gentle humor, and example, he taught them what it means to be a good man, husband, father, leader, colleague, and friend. Bob faced his final years with courage, perseverance, and peace. His family takes comfort knowing he is at rest in Heaven and reunited with his beloved grandson. Until everyone is together again, Bob will live on in cherished memories, in dreams, and in the countless lives made better by his presence.
