Robertson, John Stanley was called to his eternal home on September 24, 2020. The treasure that he was to his family, and the witness for Christ that he expressed daily, cannot be easily put into words. Outside salvation by our King, our greatest gift was to be able to call him our dad and granddad.He was born to the late John K. Robertson and Minnie Mae Flippo Robertson on June 4, 1933 in Comanche County, Texas.In 1951, Stan joined the United States Air Force. It was there he learned the value of discipline, while also discovering his talents in business administration, and as a leader. All of that would serve him well in his future endeavors.But God had even more in store for Stan.It was in the Air Force that Stan met his late best friend in Ned Brown.Ned was a follower of Christ, and Stan was not. God began using Ned to teach Stan about his need for a Savior, and in 1959 Stan entered into a relationship with Christ. That relationship would be Stans foundation, and it began a lifetime of service and dedication to the church, and the passed away he worshipped.Stans work career spanned many ventures, from working for Lamar Hunt; to Whittle Construction Company; and many positions within The City of Dallas. His career culminated in 1985, when he became the Director of Streets and Sanitation for The City of Dallas. As a testament to his business administration talents, the last 3 positions he held required MBAs, but Stan did not even have a high school diploma! He loved working with and bettering people and was a major asset to the citizens of Dallas during his career. He retired in 1989, to live a life of golf, traveling, and spending time with family.Gods greatest earthly blessing to him was his wife of 53 years, Bernay Robertson (Cash). Beyond his personal relationship with Christ, nothing meant more to him than family; and together with Bernay, he was always active in pursuing deep relationships with them. They were as wonderful of grandparents as has ever been known. Their faithfulness and dedication to each other, and God, set the example for all their family to see.Stan was preceeded in death by his wife, Jewel Bernay Cash Robertson; his brothers Garland Robertson, and Gerald Robertson; and his sister Sharon Maxine Robertson Minchew.Stan is survived by daughter Regina Robertson Meynig (Mark) of Van Alstyne, TX; son Phil Robertson of Gunter, TX; grandson Kirk Meynig; granddaughters Liza Meynig, Elaina Meynig Bryant (Christopher), and Erin Robertson; and great-grandson Noah Meynig. He is also survived by his sister Carole Robertson Markel; 1 brother-in-law; 1 sister-in-law; 6 nephews; 3 nieces; and numerous cousins. All were loved by him. Thank you, our Heavenly Father, for the gift that was Stan. We anxiously await our reunion with him and our mother.The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Mr. Robertson will be interred at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in private services.In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Gideons International, and First Baptist Church at The Fields.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
