Mary Margaret Elizabeth Ryan of Dallas Texas was born on November 11, 1961 in Kansas City, MO. In the last months of her inspiring life, Mary was surrounded by her family and countless friends. She passed away on July 11, 2013.Mary became a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority while attending the University of Missouri where she also wrote for the Daily Tiger. Mary embarked on a career in advertising and broadcasting that took her across the country, from St. Louis, to New York and then Dallas working for the St. Louis Kings, Zenith Media, Warner Brothers and Raycom Media. In that time Mary never met a stranger and collected friends like they were business cards. Mary was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Mary traveled extensively and the stamps in her passports are punctuation marks in a life well lived! She lovingly doted on her cats, including Boo and Oliver and those who were with her until the end: Jaco and Lily Madison. Mary had a keen intellect, a fierce wit and an even stronger sense of determination which she called upon during her five year battle with Melanoma. Mary was preceded in death by her father William "Red" Ryan and Rose Elvira Klepich Ryan. She is survived by her brother, Larry Ryan, wife Anne and sons Marc Ryan and Timmy Ryan; brother John Ryan, wife Vicki, children Nicole Ryan, Cortney Ryan Schwierjohn, Mathew Ryan and Ashlee Ryan; brother Patrick Ryan, wife Lisa Ryan, children Katy Schamberger and Adam Ryan; and sister Michelle Ryan Duddy and husband Jim Duddy. Her family would like to thank Kim Little, her caretaker, who became her friend and all of those who spent countless hours volunteering their time to make sure Mary had around the clock care. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday August 3rd at her home, one of her final wishes.
