Obituary of Sammye Lee Jaquess A native and lifelong resident of Dallas, Sammye Lee Jaquess, 67, was born August 22, 1956, and died November 5, 2023, at T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Dallas. Sammye was a 1974 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Dallas. She also studied at Texas A&M University and North Texas State University. As an avid reader and never-ceasing student of life, her superior yet humble intellect was apparent to all of those she knew. For most of her working life, she assisted with the family company. Sammye was preceded in death by her parents, Rita and Lane Jaquess and sister, Carolyn Jaquess Long. She is survived by her brother, Tim Jaquess (Marissa) of Monroe, LA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her dear friend and BFF, Karen Fitzpatrick. Sammye was a staunch supporter of animal rights and as such, would be appreciative of any memorial donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or any other like-minded organization. Also suggested is any meningioma brain tumor research fund or organization. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to caring friends Delecia Smith and Arthur Masoha as well as the staff of T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Dallas. Per Sammyes request, there will be no memorial services. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of North Dallas Funeral Home, Farmers Branch, TX.
