Israel Sheinberg, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Israel was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and graduated from Paschal High School and the University of Texas. Following his Army service, he began a long career as engineer and businessman, working at the Irving based Recognition Equipment for 30 years, where he was a world leader in the field of optical character recognition.He was preceded in death by his brother Philip Sheinberg and brother-in-law Benjamin Swann.Israel is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Sue; his children, Amy Sheinberg and partner Stephanie Lokey, Karen Pollock and husband Richard, David Sheinberg and wife Nancy, and Paula Greenman and husband David; nine adoring grandchildren, Katherine and Matthew Pollock, Rachel, Andrew, Daniel, and Zachary Sheinberg, and Will, Claire, and Jack Greenman; his brother Joseph Sheinberg and wife, Ruth; sister-in-law, Nancy Sheinberg; sister, Bayla Biskin and husband Harvey, and sister, Gloria Swann.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association , Dallas Office, 4144 N.
