Matthew Kim Short, 48, of Lewisville, TX passed away from complications related to cancer on October 22nd, 2020. Matt was born in Seoul, South Korea and was adopted at 6 months old by Henry and Sandi Short, then of Shawnee, KS. He spent his early years in Olathe, KS and attended school in DeSoto, KS.He graduated from Kansas State University in 1995 with an Architectural Engineering degree and was recruited by CCRD Partners in Dallas, TX. Matt worked at CCRD for 10 years and then briefly at Brandt Engineering. In 2008, when Matt founded Acts 29 Consulting, he had a vision for a different kind of engineering consulting firm, which is reflected in the companys name, its core values and work culture. Matts faith in Jesus Christ informed all aspects of his life and everything that Matt did, he did it with this in mind: all for the glory of God. He was a member of Global Harvest Church in Carrollton, TX for many years, where he served as a small group leader.He was preceded in death by his father, Henry H. Short. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kristine, and their sons Tyler, Dylan, and Ayden of Lewisville, TX. He is also survived by his mother, Sandi Short, Rowlett, TX; his sisters, Amy Camp, Rowlett, TX; Beth Lazur, Seoul, S. Korea; Megan Temchin, Rowlett, TX; his brother Ryan Short, Kansas City, MO; half-brothers Paul Short, Gardner, KS and Larry Short, Pratt, KS, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.Matt was passionate about sharing the gospel, both here in the U.S. and abroad, and he had the opportunity to go on two international mission trips with his church.
