Smith, Frances S. Frances Smith, devoted wife and mother, passed away May 7, 2010 at the age of 82. She spent her childhood years in the Presbyterian Children's home in Amarillo, Texas where she met the love of her life, John W. Smith. She worked many years as a registrar in the DISD. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; her son, John L. Smith and wife Twyala of Dallas; daughters, Janet Foley and husband Joe of Uvalde, TX and Teal Smith-Pitkin and husband Barry of Alexandria, VA; grandsons Harper Foley (age 19) and Scott Pitkin (age 1); sisters Helen Boyd and Hazel Stumpf; and many neighbors and friends. A visitation from noon to 1:30 p.m. on May 13 at the North Dallas Funeral Home will be immediately followed by an escorted procession to the DFW National Cemetery for a brief graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Presbyterian Children's Homes & Services, 4407 Bee Cave Road, Suite 520, Austin, TX 78746-6496.
