Søren Krogh Nielsen, 61, of Denmark, passed away on April 3, 2025. He was born on Feb. 5, 1964, in Løgstør, Denmark, to Aase and Per Nielsen. Søren was a graduate of Skive Gymnasium and later attended the Danish Technological Institute, where he earned a master's degree in electrical engineering. Prior to attending DTU, he served in the Danish Army for two years, fueling his lifelong passion for military planes, weaponry and history.
Søren had a 33-year career as a telecommunications and software engineer at Ericsson, retiring in November 2024.
In 1999, Søren married Karen Britton Nielsen, and together they raised two amazing children, Jakob and Isabella. He is also survived by his mother, brother, Jesper Krogh, and wife, Anette, along with their children Josephine and Laura. He was preceded in death by his father. Søren leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and extended family members and friends who are deeply saddened by his death.
Outside of his professional life, Søren had many interests and hobbies. He was a skilled woodworker, could fix nearly anything, was passionate about traveling, 3D printing and robotics, and was an avid marksman. He also enjoyed bowling and playing pool and competed in leagues. Søren dedicated many years to serving as a Boy Scout leader and attending High Adventure Treks (HATS) outings, where he enjoyed camping, hiking and the outdoors with his kids.
Søren was known for his dry sense of humor, his brilliance, his humility and dedication to his kids and family. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Søren's legacy.
