Nancy Ray (Baumgard-ner) Sorrells passed away in hersleep at the Emeritus at FarmersBranch assisted living facility after a long battle with dementia that resulted from a brain aneurism in 1998.Nancy was born on October 7, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Rayand Doris Baumgardner. Ray wasan Army Air Force flight instructor with Spartan who trained pilots during WWII. Doris Baumgardner was a registered nurse. The family moved to Fort Stockton, Texas and Ray started an aviation service.Nancy grew up in Fort Stocktonand graduated from FS High Schoolin 1960. Nancy met Ralph Sorrellswhile attending Texas Tech Univer-sity in Lubbock, Texas and theywere married on March 28th, 1964in Fort Stockton, Texas. Nancytaught English and Spanish atRopesville High School to maintaintheir small house and help pay Ralph
