Vern Spence was born on January 20, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan, and passed away January 15, 2012. Vern graduated from the University of Oklahoma as a Petroleum Engineer and worked for Maguire Oil Company before starting his own company, Spence Energy.Vern was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and was a dedicated husband, father and follower of Jesus Christ. Vern was a long-time member of Royal Oaks Country Club and the Dallas Petroleum Club.Vern is survived by his wife, Jody; sons, Clay and Kelly and Jay and his wife Kim; grandchildren, James and Sarah; his brothers, Ken and Vic and their wives.Services will be at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel at 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 19, 2012.Please send the family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
