Joy Elwanda Wanda Spurgin died peacefully on April 4, 2019, in McKinney, Texas. Wanda was born on September 15, 1922, in Galveston, Texas. Beloved daughter of James and Annie Dunshie; wife of the late Jim Spurgin; mother of the late Cindy Hewson and son, Michael Spurgin; grandmother to Brandie,Shelby, Maggie, and Jake; and great-grandmother to Samantha, Tristan, Grace, Caleb, Carter, Isaiah, Fisher, and Bryer.Wanda will be remembered for her cooking, especially her famous chocolate cake, her compassionate heart, her helpful nature, and her Southern sayings.Services will be held Friday, April 12, at 6:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
