Obituary

Lloyd Eugene Stanbery, a faithfulservant of the Lord, passed awayFeb. 19, 2009 in Dallas. Born Jan.5, 1925 in Canton, TX to the lateClyde and Essie Stanberry, Genewas a WWII veteran.Visitation: Friday, Feb. 20, from6:00-8:00 PM at North DallasFuneral Home. Funeral: 1:00 PM,Saturday in the chapel at NorthDallas Funeral Home. Interment:Restland Cemetery.After 29 years with BraniffAirlines, Gene began Do-Les ofDallas, providing fine custom upholsteryto many homes in theDallas area. Anyone who knewGene, understood the importanceof music in his life. He started theTuesday night jam at FarmersBranch Senior Center, sang regularlyat local nursing homes, hischurch and at many area jams.Gene believed that "wherever twoor more are gathered, there shall bemusic." Gene was a member of theSenior Golf League at L.BHouston Golf Course and was therecipient of many awards, one ofwhich was a Hole-In-One award.Gene loved to travel and was blessedwith two wonderful travel companions;his first wife Dorotha,who predeceased him, and his secondwife, Jeannie.Gene was predeceased by his parents,first wife Dorotha, and abrother, Dewayne. Survivors includehis wife of 15 years, JeannieStanbery, Children: Les Stanberyand wife Karin, Gail Estes and husbandLandy, Step-children: AmiHolt and husband Paul, SuzyCoker, Alan Coker and wifeDawn, one brother: BobbyStanberry, Grandchildren: Kristinaand Gerry Garcia, Kellie Jackson,Erica and David Bohls, StacyEstes, Dustin Holt, Taylor Holt,Austin Coker, Katie Coker, PaigeCoker, Great-grandchildren:Brandon Jackson, Jonathan Garciaand Evan Garcia, along with ahosts of friends.
