Joe A. Staser died peacefully under hospice care on February 17th in Dallas, TX at the age of 83. Joe was born into a farming family on April 26, 1932, the third of four boys, in Lyons, Indiana. He attended Michigan State on a gymnastics scholarship becoming the teams captain as well as the captain of the schools cheerleading squad. He created MSUs first Sparty mascot. Upon graduation he entered the USAF and became a B-47 bomber pilot in the Strategic Air Command. Completing his active duty obligation Joe took a job in GMs Oldsmobile Division as a Sales Promotion Specialist in Lansing, MI. On June 14, 1958 he married the love of his life, the former Judith Reynolds. Thirty two years, eight cities, and many promotions later he retired from one career to continue in a second career, the love of antiques. He and Judy created J & J Antiques and enjoyed 12 years of English travel buying antiques. The couple raised three children and countless dogs, cats, and assorted creatures. Deeply devoted to church choir he sang for most of his 83 years. Passionate about working with his hands he constantly volunteered his talents if construction was involved. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.He is survived by his wife, Judith, and their three children, David (Monica), Joy (Glenn) and Brian (Julie), 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, Feb 22nd at Arapaho UMC, 1400 W. Arapaho Rd, Richardson.In lieu of flowers, donations in Joes memory would be appreciated to the Plano Animal Shelter, 4028 W.
