Obituary

Noah Bernard Sullivan, 32, died in his sleep at his home in Dallas, TX on January 25, 2021. Son of Lianne Krueger Sullivan and James W. Sullivan, Noah was a student of history at Southern Methodist University, and a graduate of The Winston School.A generous and gregarious soul, full of the love of life, he will be missed by all who knew him.Noah was always a ready and loyal friend, a devoted Chelsea football fan, and a lover of travel from his earliest days with his family in Berlin to later travels in France, Japan and Korea. These shaped his openness to every experience, his compassion for others and his regard for the study of history and other cultures which he shared with all, from his friends to the students he tutored. He was a talented musician, starting the study of piano at three and later guitar. Since his earliest days he loved sports, from skateboarding with the Lakewood Rats, through years of soccer and football where his quickness and power served him well. From his mother Lianne, he learned the passion he devoted to all his projects, how to care for injured animals, and what made a drawing a good drawing. He met all with a beautiful smile and open arms.Born in Holyoke Massachusetts, 1988 and adopted by James and Lianne Sullivan, Noah is survived by his father James, his partner May, and his beloved dog Bazil.Donations are gratefully encouraged to either: the Noah Bernard Sullivan Scholarship fund at The Winston School, which been established in his name and in honor of his favorite teacher Maryanne Fauble; or to the Humane Society.A visitation will be held at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, on Saturday January 30 from 1-4PM, where we ask that you attend safely and with respect for all health requirements. All finite things reveal infinitude; The mountain with its singular bright shadeLike the blue shine on freshly frozen snow,The after-light upon ice burdened pines;Odor of basswood on a mountain-slope,A scent beloved of bees;Silence of water above a sunken tree; The pure serene of memory in one man, --A ripple widening from a single stoneWinding around the waters of the world.-- Theodore Roethke, from The Far FieldWe are all too often finite, alone, and unable, but infinite through our love and care of others. Good bye Noah. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
