Phylis Thayer, 75, passed away on July 5, 2018 after a very brief illness. She was born in Dallas on May 31, 1943, the daughter of Angus L. Ballenger of Henderson, Texas and Blanche Walters Ballenger of Tulia, Texas.Ms. Thayer had recently retired following more than 50 years at First Southwest Company in Dallas. She had a passion for quilting and embroidery and had opened a home business to produce gift items using her expertise. She had been a long-time member of Park Cities Baptist Church.Survivors include her fianc Joe W. Patterson of Farmers Branch, Texas, brother, Joe K. (Melody Anne) Ballenger of Nacogdoches, Texas; three nephews, Andrew Brian Ballenger of Arlington, Texas, Philip Warren Ballenger and David Keith Ballenger, both of San Antonio, Texas. Also, three great nieces, Ava Jordan Ballenger of San Antonio, Texas, Aeris Faith Ballenger of Bullard, Texas, and Emma Lynn Ballenger of Arlington Texas. She is well loved and will be sorely missed by an abundance of lifelong friends, acquaintances and her beloved dog Jaxon. A Celebration of Life for Phylis will be held on August 4th from 2pm to 4pm at the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce located at 4418 Main St. Rowlett, Texas.The family has requested donations, in lieu of flowers, to be made to any local animal shelter or The Humane Society in honor of Phylis Thayers love of animals; especially dogs.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
