Theodore (Ted) Poyner Stokely Sr. of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024. Ted was born on August 27, 1933, in Crawford, Georgia, to Jabe and Maude Stokely. Ted graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Engineering and served honorably in the United States Air Force. Ted moved to Texas and was a successful senior executive for a large property management company; and also served on the board of directors after his retirement. Ted loved golfing and taking trips with his family. He was a loving, compassionate, and kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all those who knew him. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Stokely, sisters Roxy Stokely Porter and Edith Stokely Donn, and joined his brother Jesse Stokely. Survivors include his wife, Lily, and his children, Ted Stokely Jr., Linda Ten Broeck, Cathy Walker, Susan Dickey, and Danny Luo; grandchildren Amanda Dudley, Russell Stokely, Michael Stokely, Karen Stokely, Tyler Stokely, Travis Gladden, Jonathan Tenbroeck, Jason Swilling, Zach Swilling, Lauren Swilling, Justin Burkett, and Chris Dickey.
A memorial service in Ted's honor will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. CST at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Ln, Dallas, TX.
