Dennis Thimesch Denny, 78, of Carrollton, Texas passed away following a heart attack on December 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Denny was born on April 17, 1941 in Saint Josephs Ost, Kansas to John and Matilda Thimesch. After graduating from Garden Plain High School in 1959, he went on to attend Wichita State University. He then proudly served in the Kansas Army National Guard.Denny met the love of his life on a blind date set up by their best friends. He married Carol Rau on May 23, 1964 in Colwich, Kansas. They were happily married for over 55 years and together raised 3 children. A man known for his loyalty, Denny spent over 45 years working as a tax accountant for Trailways/Greyhound. Even after retiring in 2009, he would continue to work for them as a consultant for another 10 years.Trailways transferred Denny to Carrollton, Texas in 1971 where he and Carol would become active in community life. Denny touched the lives of many through his dedicated service and heart for the young. He was an active parishioner of Mary Immaculate Church for over 48 years and gladly served in many capacities including volunteer coaching for the children. He also enjoyed serving in the Boys Scouts for over 30 years.Friends will remember his pleasure in gardening and spending time outdoors. Its been said he never met a plant he couldnt grow. As much as he loved spending time with his plants, he treasured his time spent with family. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, and wonderful papa who never missed an opportunity to show his delight in his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol Thimesch; children Jeffery Thimesch (Kronda), Stephanie Venturini-Thimesch (Steve), and Craig Thimesch (Jennifer); his grandchildren Justin Thimesch (Amy), Kaytin Thimesch Slater (Kolby), Jacob Thimesch, Ashley Venturini, Karissa Thimesch, and Audrey Thimesch.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 16, 2019 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Pkwy, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the American Heart Association in Dennys name.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
