Thomas H. Fitzpatrick Jr., known to friends and family as either Tom, Fitz or Jack peacefully entered the fullness of life on June 25, 2026. Tom was born on June 5, 1933 in West Elizabeth, PA to Thomas Henry Fitzpatrick and Dorthy Braum Fitzpartick, the fourth of four children.
Tom is survived by his wife of ten years, Peggy Haden Fitzpatrick, his children Kathy Antonini (Greg), Mark Fitzpatrick (Frances Dare), grandchildren Tanya Antonini Karamchandani (Ashish), Kyle Antonini, Peter Fitzpatrick, Chase Fitzpatrick, Alina Fitzpatrick, great-grandchildren Avi and Luca Karamchandani and many nieces and nephews.
After moving to California in 1944, Tom attended Our Lady of Victory school; he then attended St. Anthony High School in Long Beach where he excelled in his studies and made many close friends with whom he kept in contact through his retirement years. Tom graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara where he met and married Lynda Sue Louden. He had served as President of his Junior Class, named one of the ten outstanding graduates in the class of 1956 and received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army via the ROTC.
After military service at Ft. Knox, KY and Ft. Bragg, NC Tom, Lynda and their two children returned to Southern California. Tom was employed by Traveler’s Insurance Company for ten years in the claims department. He attended Loyola University of Los Angeles Law School at night and was awarded his Juris Doctor degree in 1967 and admitted to the State Bar of California in June 1968.
Tom was a litigation partner at Welsh, Bright and Fitzpatrick in Riverside, CA. He then accepted a position in 1972 as litigation counsel with Dresser Industries in Dallas, TX. The family became members of St. Rita Catholic Church; Lynda joined the Tuesday Morning Bible Study group of which Peggy Haden was a member.
After retirement from Dresser in 1983, Tom spent many days on the golf course, many hours of volunteer work at North Dallas Shared Ministries and awesome trips with Lynda both nationally and internationally. After Lynda’s passing in 2013, Tom reconnected with Peggy through their many connections in the St. Rita community and married in April 2016.
