Tishlias, Harold (Harry)Our beloved uncle, brother, and friend took his place in heaven on December 17, 2014, just 2 months shy of his 91st birthday. Born on February 18, 1924 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was the second to the last son of seven children born to Catherine and Demetrios Tishlias. He graduated high school in Meriden, CT as a certified welder and worked in the sheet metal industry for most of his career. From 1943-1946 he was a Seaman Second Class in the United States Navy on the USS Arkansas where he earned the American Theatre Ribbon, European African Theatre Ribbon (2 stars), Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon (2 stars), Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Victory Medal. For the rest of his civilian career he continued in the Sheet Metal/Air Conditioning Industry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Peter, Nick, Charlie and George as well as sister Betty Vouras.He is survived by one sister Lilian Topodas of Cape Cod as well as many nieces and nephews.The Trisagion service will be at 7:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, TX 75240. Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014, also at the Greek Church.
