Obituary

Bernard (Bernie) R. Trubisky Sr. left this life on March 28, 2012 at the age of 75.Bernie was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George and Rose (Hosko) Trubisky. He went to Perry High School in Perry, Ohio where he excelled in academics as well as athletics and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. Bernie played center on offense and middle linebacker on defense. He was part of the 1953 undefeated football team. In the 1953 season he was selected First Team WRL and the Cleveland Touchdown Club WRL Most Valuable Player. As center on the basketball team, Bernie earned All-WRL First Team honors in 1953 and 1954. He spent 1 semester at John Carroll University and graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Commerce in 1958. While serving in the US Army in Baltimore, Maryland he met Margaret V. McTighe, married her on August 19, 1961 and was discharged from active duty in February 1962. They started a family in Baltimore, Maryland and had 3 sons and a daughter.Bernie started his career in sales with IBM as a computer salesman and worked in sales which took his family to Dallas, Texas and continued his career in sales until his retirement in 1999. He went to work for Brookhaven College in his retirement and after retiring a second time after the death of his beloved wife he lived briefly in South Padre and Lubbock until he returned to Dallas in 2010. During his life in Dallas he was an active member in Mary Immaculate Church where he taught CCD classes and an active member in the Knights of Columbus # 5052.Bernie is preceded in death by his parents and wife. Survivors include son Bernard Trubisky Jr. of Dallas; son Gregory Trubisky and wife Debra of Centerton, Arkansas; son Michael Trubisky of Dallas; daughter Alicia Jackson and husband Craig of Lubbock; and granddaughter Jaryn Rose of Lubbock. He will also be missed by his sister Patricia Korb and husband Mike of Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania; his Brother Leonard Trubisky and wife Roseann of Paradise Valley, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.The Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:30am at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Pkwy., Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
