Mae Nell Byford Tucker of Plano, Texas, died May 6, 2013. She was 81 years old.Nell was born April 16, 1932, in Grand Saline, Texas, to Jesse William and Ivor D. Bell Byford. She was baptized as a Christian at the 1950 International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses held in New York, NY. Throughout her 62 years of dedicated service to her God, Jehovah, Nell was an avid student of the Bible, and was ever ready to "make a defense" for her faith (1 Peter 3:15). Over the decades, Nell fully participated in the Christian disciple-making work, becoming an accomplished Bible teacher and aiding scores of persons to embrace the true teachings of the Bible. Her sterling example of joy, zeal, endurance, and faith stands as a legacy that will serve to encourage many as they continue to strive to gain God's favor. She can be confident in the Master's expression of approval found at Matthew 25:21, "Well done, good and faithful slave!"Nell was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Harold Tucker; three brothers: Winton Byford, Robert (Tink) Byford, David Byford, and one sister, Oleta Byford Martin.Nell is survived by one son, Douglas Tucker, of Plano, TX; seven siblings: Glover Byford of Mineola, TX, Roy Byford of Ardmore OK, Mona Byford Fisher, Nona Byford Parkerson and Bill Byford of Grand Saline, TX, Phil Byford of Garland TX, and Linda Byford Magellan of Round Rock, TX; along with nieces and nephews to three generations.Memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1912 Hedgcoxe Rd., Plano, TX, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, 1:30 pm.Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
