Irene Emma Van Dijk of Carrollton, Texas left this world on Monday, September 5, 2016. She was born August 12, 1939, in Delft, Netherlands.

Irene was so very much loved. Her light so bright and her energy so strong, she was captivating, charming and a friend to everyone she met.Irene had a passion for design, fashion, and sports, particularly the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and the William sisters of tennis fame. She was an excellent athlete with a love for tennis, working out, and running. She was proud to have completed many marathons.She loved animals and nature, especially flowers, and had a magic touch in keeping plants blooming. Irene leaves a legacy of beauty, joy, kindness, compassion, empathy, and above all an incomparably witty sense of humor and her sweet spirit continues to live on in everyone whose heart she touched. An excellent listener, she always had an inspirational and encouraging word.Irene loved her home country and she was also happy and proud to have become a recent U.S. citizen. Irene is survived by her two daughters, Juliette Robinett and Mylene vandenBerg, and her three siblings, Suus Post, Emmy Stoorvogel, and Jan VandenBerg.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
