Wallis Blackwell Head, born in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 17, 1936, passed away at age 89 on March 2, 2026, under hospice care in Weatherford, Texas.
Wallis was a committed family man known for his work ethic, sense of humor, fun-loving personality, and generous spirit. He will be remembered as a strong patriarch, loving husband and brother, loyal friend, and successful entrepreneur and businessman. Wallis served in the 49th Armed Division in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1956-62. His patriotism inspired his work as Chairman of the Board at Concord Industries, which has supplied many of the flagpoles that proudly fly our flag over Texas and many other states across the country.
He is survived by his three children: Cathy, Jerrell, and Jimmy; as well as three stepchildren: David, Diane, and Debra. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Joyfully, he is reunited with his beloved wife, Virginia, who passed away in 2010, and his sister JoAlice, who passed away in 2024, both of whom he missed greatly.
Wallis' family plans to have a Memorial Service at North Dallas Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 1-3 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026. Meet-and-greet from 1-2 pm; service to begin at 2 pm.
