Wanda Lynn
Borden
June 21, 1948 – November 4, 2024
Wanda Lynn Stroud Borden received her Heavenly reward at the age of 76 at her home in The Colony, TX on November 4, 2024.
Mom, Mama as her grandkids called her, was born and raised in Honey Grove, TX. She grew up on a farm and worked hard and as the oldest had to do many things very early. This included learning to drive, which she only drove through a fence once. She was a hard worker around the house and a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She met Allen Borden at Oklahoma Christian and married on September 14, 1968. She was a supportive and loving wife to our dad, a minister his entire life. She did many jobs throughout her years from being a bank teller, school attendance, and finally a bookkeeper for Hebron High School. Mom loved to cook and was known for her famous fried chicken, spicy chex mix, pies, cakes, and fried catfish, just to name a few. Mom also was a seamstress. She could sew clothes and costumes that looked better than you could buy at most stores. The best attribute about her was the way that she shined Jesus' love to all that met her. She loved the Lord deeply and that love was shown to others as well. She cared deeply for people whether she was hosting them at her house or in her office at school. You could not walk away without knowing that you were loved and usually with a smile or a lot of laughter. Mom was so funny and loved to give people a hard time. Another passion was her Hallmark addiction, and we have the tubs of ornaments to prove it. Mom's biggest role and accomplishment was as a matriarch of the family. She passed down faith to her kids and grandkids and so many friends and family grew in their relationship with Jesus because of the way she lived out her relationship with the Lord.
Lynn Borden is proceeded in death by her husband Allen Borden, parents Noah Thomas Stroud and Hallie Elizabeth Chapman Stroud. She is survived by her children Stephanie Alsbrook and Bryan Borden, grandchildren, Thomas Alsbrook, Blake Alsbrook, Jake Alsbrook, Bryce Borden, Jayden Borden, and Hallie Borden, sister Debbie Dickson, brother Noah Stroud, and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16 at 1:30pm at Prestoncrest Church of Christ, 6022 Preston Crest Ln. Dallas, TX 75230

Her favorite verse is Romans 8:37-39, 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
