Thomas Ralph Weaver a Dallas resident, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2011, age 72, surrounded by his adoring andloving family. He was born in SanJose, California to Dorothy Elizabeth and Ralph Arden Weaver,March 19, 1939. Tom lived a life of great spirit, determination, and optimism that inspired all who knew him. Tom was considered one of the most promising young swimmers in the state, a true swimming champion. He recorded the fifth best 200 meter freestyle time in the nation. He was an outstanding water polo player. Then misfortune struck in the form of polio. He was unconscious for three months whilein an iron lung. Throughout treatment, his spirit inspired other polio survivors and helped him regain partial use of his legs. Tom achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from James Lick High School in San Jose, CA. He graduated witha BS in engineering from StanfordUniversity in 1962. He was an entrepreneur, a Life Master in bridge and won many Backgammon Tournaments throughout the UnitedStates as well as creating the first Backgammon program for computers. Tom
