Emma Jean Weems, 93, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with her passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Emma was born in Howard County near Big Spring, Texas on April 17, 1926 and graduated from Groesbeck High School. Emma attended Draughons Business and Secretarial School in Dallas, Texas. Emma worked for Texas Instruments and retired after 30 years.Emma loved spending time with her husband Leonard, their four children and their spouses, sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren (with another soon to join the crew). Leonard Weems was the love of her life and they married on Sunday, December 22, 1945. Emma enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her Sunday School friends at Valwood Park Baptist Church. Their weekly classes before worship and monthly gatherings were a highlight in her life. Later in life, she enjoyed participating in classes at the Farmers Branch Senior Center. Her favorite sport became balloon volleyball which she took up after turning 90.Emma is survived by her four children: Carolyn and husband Jodie Ray, Lynn Weems and wife Mary, Pam and husband Barry Queen, Jeannie and husband Greg Buchanan, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
