Earl Merrick Young peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the age of 76, in Carrollton Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Earl was born on March 24, 1936, in Grand Coulee, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Roy Young; and sisters, Helen Jones and Maxine McCormick. Earl is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Frances L. Young; sister, Carol Raines; brothers, Roy Young and Fred Raines; daughters, Lori (and Jim) Kelso, Gail (and TJ) Sechrist and Lisa (and Brady) Reed; sons, Mark Freeman Young, James (and Siri) Roark, and Kenneth (and Kim) Roark; and was Poppy to eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Earl graduated from Galileo Academy of Science & Technology, San Francisco, CA, and attended San Mateo College, San Mateo CA. He experienced many jobs over his lifetime, culminating in a successful career at Bowne & Co. Printers, where he was a Computer Systems Manager for 12 years.Earl enjoyed his membership with the National Rifle Association and, through his many years of hard work and dedication, achieved the honor of Fellow with the Loyal Order of the Moose. Earl made his Lodge home at the Farmers Branch Lodge #2277 where he was blessed to share so many wonderful years and experiences with his fellow members and friends.Above all, Earl loved his family and cooking
