Obituary of Hurt, Marjorie D.

Marjorie D. Hurt, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2014. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 20, 1926 to Earl and Doris Kelsh. Marge is survived by her two children, Barbie Van Order, Bill Hurt and wife, Lola; grandchildren, Dave Tatone, Laurie Tatone, Ryan Hurt; two great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Kelsh and wife, Barb. She flew as a stewardess for TWA, was the first Richardson city council woman, owner of Province House Tea Room, and worked as a sales rep for a spice blending company. Her interests included serving as a deacon in her church, Bible study, Richardson Women’s Club, Garden Club, a home business, stained glass winning two awards at the Texas State Fair, award-winning needlework, painting, knitting beanie caps for the military, Samaritan’s Purse organizer, and most of all hospitality. Services will be held at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, 4124 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas, TX on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at DFW National Cemetery following the service at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Cedarbrook, 551 CR 331, Rosebud, TX 76570 or to Park Cities Senior Ministry, 4124 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas, TX 75219.     My dear sweet neighbor for so many years. Phil and I built the third house in our new neighborhood. Marge and Ed had built the first and they were our welcoming committee. Such a kind and caring soul – I’ll miss you Marge.
