Obituary of Dahlander, Jared Browning

Jared Browning Dahlander, our sweet angel Jared died painlessly on Saturday, August 30. Although he never said a word, Jared brought tremendous joy to his family. He was a gift from God who taught all who knew him about faith, grace and unconditional love.  Jared was born September 8, 2000 with a genetic syndrome that eluded diagnosis. He endured 20 surgeries and many hospital stays, yet always maintained his gentle spirit. Jared’s parents thank his home health nurses from Encompass, teachers and staff from Casa View, Gooch and Preston Hollow Elementary Schools and Walker Middle School, the staff in the PICU at Medical City Children’s, his team of doctors, nurses and therapists, the staff at Scottish Rite, volunteers from Night Owls at Highland Park UMC and Rays of Light at Lovers Lane UMC. Special thanks to Jared’s church family at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd who continually lifted him in prayer. Jared is survived by his parents, Jon and Heidi, sisters Ava Faith and Chloe Grace, grandparents Charles and Magda Browning in Gainesville, FL and Ward and Dianne Dahlander in Dallas and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Sservices will be held Saturday, September 6 at 1 p.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 11122 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jared’s name to either Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children or H.E.R.O.E.S., an organization that helps individuals with special needs. H.E.R.O.E.S. 101 S. Coit Rd. Ste. 36-348 Richardson, TX 75080

As one of the nurses at Night OWLS, I felt it was a privilege to get to be with Jared and a joy to watch him grow and change over the years. He really was able to “tell” us when he was having fun, what he liked and didn’t like and when he was getting very excited! You all were a special family to be around. Jared will be missed – thanks for sharing him!

I had the blessings and privilege of spending part of every week for four years with Jared. He indeed blessed my life and brought joy to my world! I will miss him but know I will see him later! Much love and comfort to the family.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of your son Jared at this most difficult time. How we all eagerly long for the fulfillment of
God’s promise to completely remove death, tears, mourning, outcry and pain (Revelation 21: 4). In the Bible, we also find assurance of a real hope of reuniting with our dead loved ones (John 5: 28,29). May God almighty, father of tender mercies and comfort, who comforts us in all our trials continue to strengthen and be with you all .
