Britton, John Edward (Johnny)


John Edward Britton, age 79, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, February 2, 1935, to Paul and Kathleen Britton and he attended schools in Dallas, Texas.  John was in the US Navy and stationed in Hawaii as a Submarine Torpedoman and later he worked as a wholesale parts representative for 36 years.

John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wanda Britton, his daughter, Pamela Whitaker, his son, Chad Britton, son-in-law, Jeff Whitaker, daughter-in-law, Kasey Britton, 3 grandchildren, Cynthia and Zane Britton and Brittni Whitaker, sister Marilyn Wasmuth of California, and many other beloved niece, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Kathleen Britton, his brother, Paul Britton Jr and his son, Johnny Britton Jr.

The family will receive visitors September 4, 2014 from 6-8pm in the Parlor at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane,  Farmers Branch, TX  75234.

Celebration of Life will be Friday, September 5, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 12123 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, TX 75230.

John was always laughing and joking around, he was a light to Chandler Height Neighborhood Association.
This chapter of John’s life has been read and we will meet again.
I know all of Chandler Heights will miss him
