“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Pate, Mary Katheryne (Kitty)
Mary Katheryne (Kitty) Pate spent 93 years enjoying life with her family and friends. On November 13, 2014 she found peace. She passed on at her daughter’s home in Dallas which she has shared for most of the past three years. Kitty was the daughter of Otho and Ellen Phillips and grew up on the family farm in Comanche County, TX. She and her husband, Dub Pate, retired back on that farm after raising her daughter and enjoying their careers in San Antonio. When Dub’s health failed they moved to Brownwood where Kitty was active in the Central United Methodist Church. Kitty moved to Dallas to be closer to her daughter and family in her later years.
Only one of Kitty’s five siblings, Lucille Ratliff of Lawton, OK, remains with us from the original Comanche Phillips family farm. Kitty is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Henry Irving, her grandchildren, Marilee Blackwell, Kent Hayden, Lee Irving, and Lynn Herrera, and seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Rachel, Abby, Madelyn, Ben, Zachary, and Annabelle.
Family and friends will attend a service at the White Point Cemetery in Comanche County at 11:00am on Thursday, November 20. All who loved Kitty are invited. Flowers may be delivered to the North Dallas Funeral Home but memorials to the White Point Cemetery operating fund are encouraged in lieu of flowers.
