Robinson, Roger Hornsby
Roger Hornsby Robinson was born on December 22, 1929 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Roger was the son of Scott and Eugenia Robinson. He was preceeded in death by three sisters, Orlene Lang, Dorothy Burney, Lynn Grag, and one brother, Walter Johnson Robinson. He is survived by one sister, Mary Bishop of Squim, Washington.
Roger married the love of his life, Billie Jean Booth of Waurika, Oklahoma, in 1950. He has been happily married for the past 64 years. Roger and Billie have two daughters, Kellye Robinson Sherbet and Kasey Robinson Dow. They also have two son-in-laws, Bruce Sherbet and Scott Dow. He has six grandchildren, Nicholas Lawrance, Brittany Sherbet, Katie Dow, Scotty Dow, Cody Dow, and Thomas Dow.
Roger graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1956. He remained a life long Sooner fan. He worked for many years at Otis Engineering, a division of Halliburton, in the oil and gas industry.
He proudly served in the United States Army as a Lt. during the Korean War. He remained in the U.S. Reserves for many years. He will be buried on Friday, January 2, 2015 in the DFW National Cemetery. The graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Glenn Meredith.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in Roger’s name to Alzheimer Association (P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011) or Christ the King Catholic School (4100 Colgate Dallas, TX 75225).
