Obituary of McCormick, Theodore Arthur

Theodore Arthur McCormick, 75, of Plano, Texas, beloved husband and best friend of Carmen (Fernandez) McCormick, passed away on Thursday, January 29th, 2015.  He was born to the late Hart McCormick and Juanita (Montalbo) McCormick on January 16th, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas.   He was preceded in death by sons, John McCormick and Keith Furr.  He is survived by  his loving brothers and sisters and their families, Carmen Stover, Louis Hart McCormick, Margaret McCormick, James McCormick and Mary Regan.  He is also survived by children Kathleen Graham, Laurie McCormick, Theresa Pressley, Kevin Furr, Tonja Oliphant, Theodore McCormick, Jr., Gina McCormick, Monica Peña and Robert M. Peña, Jr. along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many loving friends. Ted was a veteran of the United States Army, having served 22 honorable years.  He was extremely active and loved traveling,  sports, working out and helping others.  He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, helping deliver warm meals to the homebound and those unable to access resources.  Ted enjoyed relaxing at home with the family and his dogs and spending time with his best friend and love, Carmen.   He worked with Dallas Dodge until he suffered from a stroke in July 2014.  Our beloved Ted will always be remembered for his willingness to help others, his infectious laugh and his insatiable curiosity and energy.  We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. Rosary will be held Thursday, February 12th, 2015 at 9:30 am with Funeral Mass immediately following at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas.  Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetary.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the National Stroke Association online at https://theodore.mccormick.muchloved.com. Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
