De Caballero, Dora Maria

Dora Maria Burga de Caballero, better known as “Lala”, was 95 and a half years old. She was born in Callao, Peru on August 4th, 1919 and passed away on Feb. 4th, 2015 in Carrollton, Texas.

Lala was the middle child of Héctor Burga and Zoila Soriano. She was predeceased by siblings Carmen Burga and Jorge Burga and by her husband Guillermo Caballero. Lala is survived by three daughters; Dora (Moza) Trelles, Mariana (Mari) Peterson and Flor (Pochi) Hall; sons in-law Willie Trelles, Bob Peterson and Sean Hockens; seven grandchildren: Ursula del Aguila, Oscar Trelles, Norma Morales, Natalie Peterson, Paola Morales, Andrew Peterson and Cristina Suarez; grandchildren in-law Ivan del Aguila, Lisette de la Piedra and Rey Suarez, and two great-grandchildren Gianpiero and Francesca del Aguila.

Lalita was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She came to the United States 22 years ago to live with her daughters after our dad Guillermo’s passing. Lala had a great sense of humor and loved to party. We wish to thank all our family members and friends as well as the staff of Madison at Marsh and Elysian Hospice and to all the people that in one way or the other gave our mother their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
